This week’s story is on quote “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.“
When you were small, you started learning to walk. Did you stop after failing? No, obviously.
Learning to talk took you years. But still you continued. Right? We come in this world and right from day 1 our struggle starts. But why do you forget that when you grow old? Why do you get discouraged so easily as you grow older.
Let’s read the story and then will continue to discuss.
Story on Quote – Elephant and rope.
As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages.
It was obvious that the elephants could, at any time, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.
He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”
The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.
Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?
It’s time to learn from your childhood.
Whenever you think you can not learn a particular thing, just think how did you learned to talk? Were you speaking fluently right from the start? NO.
When you think that life is getting tougher, remember how you learned to walk. Toddlers typically stumble, bumble, and trip before learning to walk. You never criticize yourself when you were small and would fall while walking. Then what happened now?
You Failed. It doesn’t mean you are failure. You will never be a failure if you never give up. Read it twice 😉
Don’t forget to share. It may help someone who is thinking to quit today 🙂
